The 2022 show was the first in-person show in two years.  It was also the second year with a virtual quilt show featuring all quilts that were on display.

The quilt show held in April 2021 was like no other, at the end of a year that was like no other.

Restrictions on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic caused the 2020 show to be cancelled and for the guild to pivot to virtual meetings. Thanks to the leadership and skills of the GQCCC president, Doreen O’Brien, the 2021 show was presented as a beautiful website. Visitors were able to scroll through the entries at their leisure and vote for their favorite quilts online.

2020 QUILT SHOW

Quilt Show Chair: Donna Brooks

Just as the final details for the 2020 Quilt Show, scheduled to be held in April 2020, were being made, the reality of a global pandemic, sheltering-in-place, and social distancing forced the GQCCC board to cancel the show.

Quilting is often a social activity, and the disappointment of not being able to gather and admire the work of others was great. However, the opportunity quilt was raffled as planned on May 18, 2020. And guild members adjusted and continued to stay connected virtually, keeping each other inspired.

The Opportunity Quilt raffle went forward, a celebration in a year that was anything but a “Fiesta”!
