In addition to workshops led by guild members, we also sponsor professional classes with guest speakers from our monthly general meetings. It is a great opportunity to learn from accomplished quilt artists.

Registration opens 90 days prior to the class date. Payment reserves your spot in the class. Class payments are non-transferable. Non-members are welcome to sign up, but will be charged a slightly higher fee. Registrants may cancel up to 35 days before the class.

GQCCC may choose to cancel the class if the minimum number of signups is not reached prior to the date noted in the class description. The minimum number of students varies by class.

If the instructor is available to teach locally, the class will be held in-person GQCCC’s Farmhouse location at 5554 Clayton Rd in the “Big Room”. Otherwise, the class will be held over Zoom.

A beautiful quilt with the illusion of depth. Don’t let it scare you -- the piecing is easy, created from just triangles! Believe it or not, this stunning quilt is created with just one block, done in different colors.  Created using a light, medium and dark value of four colors of your choice. A perfect pattern for batiks, graduated fabrics, or hand dyed fabrics!

As a bonus, Karen will be showing different layouts for this beautiful quilt in class as well as offering you different size options. You can check out Karen’s Instagram to see some beautiful quilts from her previous Zoom classes.

Class fee does not include supplies.

Cancellation allowed until December 24, 2022

earn the art of couching with yarns to create texture, flow and extra pizzazz.  The focus of the workshop will be exclusively on mastering couching techniques.  Students will bring a striped batik or gradient fabric to make an 18″ x 45″ table runner size quilt.  This class will show you the many ways to use couching for definition and sparkle, by incorporating a variety of cording, yarns and metallic threads in your work.

Class fee does not include supplies. A supply list will be provided prior to class.

Rachel will be speaking at the February 21, 2023 general meeting.

Cancellation allowed until February 18, 2023.
