Learn to make six quick and easy craft items that are fun to have and also make great gifts. Each item should take no more than 30 minutes to sew and finish.
Mary will demonstrate one of each project each half hour or so, and will provide all patterns, zippers, and hardware needed. Sew at your own pace and make as many of the items as you wish!
WHAT WILL WE MAKE?
• A scissors case – holds two scissors and keeps the blades protected while in your sewing kit.
• A cute double envelope wallet – perfect for a couple of cards and a bit of cash and a car key, and great for when you don’t want to lug a whole purse around.
• A sly little “safe” attached to a hanger. A great place to store small valuables where nobody will think to look for them. Good for travel or just hiding your fabric-stash money and Snickers bars from prying eyes.
• A soft and fuzzy sleep mask. Sometimes you just need to take a nap in the middle of the day, and this mask will block out all the light so you can snooze peacefully.
• A “wristlet” key fob. Make this in a really bright fabric and you’ll never lose your keys in your purse again!
• And...an Ice Cream Cozy (Coolzie?). Something to keep your fingers from freezing while you have a visit with your friends Ben & Jerry.
This workshop is suitable for all levels of sewists. One project requires inserting a zipper, but you will be shown a fast and easy technique.
Fee includes a FREE KIT with all the hardware, zippers, interfacing, fleece, and trimmings you need to finish your projects. You just need to bring your own fabric and regular sewing supplies. Pre-cutting the fabric is required - see details in the supply list.
Doors open at 9:30 for setup, workshop starts at 10:00 am.
Bring your own lunch or snacks. We will take a 30-minute break midway through the workshop.
