2026 OPPORTUNITY QUILT

FLORAL CONFETTI

76″ X 85″

The blooming nine-patch is a quilt pattern celebrated for its striking color-wash effect, achieved with simple nine-patch blocks and same-sized solid squares.

The design relies on a carefully planned arrangement of light and dark fabrics, along with variations in pattern scale, to create an impressionistic feel and evoke a sense of motion within the quilt.

The “blooming” effect is accomplished by placing fabrics in a gradient, with each fabric sharing at least one color with the next to ensure a smooth transition. Fabric selections from the Kaffe Fassett Collective enhance this effect, resulting in a vibrant cascade of color that rains down and blooms outward to the borders.
