PATRIOTIC QUILTS

Chair

Kathy Tedesco

Who We Are

Patriotic Quilts originated within the Quilts to Share Program in 2005, with the specific purpose of making quilts of comfort and appreciation for our wounded soldiers returning from the Iraq War. The program has grown from the original 21 quilts delivered directly to injured soldiers in Germany, to over 50 quilts a year presented to local men and women who have been injured or honorably served in our military.  The PQ Team includes: Kathy Tedesco, Carolyn Bologna, Irene Davidson-Thomas, Pam Flanary, Helen Knowles, Sharyn Owens, and Susan Swindell.
We hope to meet as an in-person group someday. For now, kits can be picked up from & returned to Kathy Tedesco, or via the Farmhouse (contact Kathy to arrange)

What We Make

We welcome completed quilts, tops, fabric, wheel chair bags, pillowcases, and blocks. We have kits available, or instructions if you prefer to sew from your own fabric.

Tops for Quilts of Honor can be either 50x60 inches or 60x70 inches. Generally Red, White & Blue (optionally a little gold). For Marines only, tops may be Blue & White (with a little gold). Please avoid using all dark/drab colors. Keep it lighter.

You can also make individual blocks. Testing out a new block? Make it in red-white-blue and donate it to PQ!
