Thanks so much to all of you who participated in our Sew In at the August general meeting. Both of our philanthropic groups, Quilts to Share and Patriotic, went all out getting ready for the event and were well prepared for our sewing members! A good time was had by all of our stitchers, as we sewed for those in need.

Now that fall is upon us, our Quilt Show Committee is gearing up for the 2017 Quilt Show. The income from the Quilt Show pays for our largest expense each year, the Farmhouse, where we hold mini quilt groups, member led workshops, board meetings, and our library of 1200 great quilt-related books. We also use this income to pay for our general meeting venue at Centre Concord and our wonderful guest speakers. So it is important to have lots of volunteers involved in this venture. Remember that the energy flows when we all work together!

The Nominating Committee, led by Maryann Carroll Moser, will be contacting you about the openings available on our guild teams. The Nominating Committee needs new members, too! Annual elections in May 2017 will be an odd year election for President, 1st Vice President, Corresponding Secretary and Membership Chair. So read the Bylaws to learn what each position is responsible for so you can volunteer to be the next President, or 1st Vice President or Corresponding Secretary or Membership Chair. All of these positions lead to more guild involvement, more fun and more new friends.

Great guest speakers are scheduled for the months to come, so check out our fall programs and workshops in this newsletter and on our website at www.gqccc.org  for more information.

Let’s Quilt!
