I am sorry to report that Jennie Rayment, our scheduled guest speaker for this month, will not be able to come. Jennie was coming from Great Britain to speak at our general meeting this month and to teach a two day class for our members. Unfortunately, not enough members signed up for the class, so it had to be cancelled. As it was not financially feasible for Jennie to come all that way, just to give a one hour presentation, her trunk show also had to be cancelled.
Lucky for our guild, our 2nd Vice President, Donna Brooks, jumped into action and found a wonderful guest speaker to replace Jennie. Sandra Mollons will be coming to our guild instead.
February brings us Valentine’s Day, President’s Day, and Black History month, and our preparation for the April Quilt Show. As individuals, we are busy preparing our quilts to enter into the show, and as a guild, we are busy preparing to host the Quilt Show.
Our guild provides great guest speakers, guest speaker classes, a nice venue, a Farmhouse for mini groups and member led workshops, and outreach opportunities, but these great benefits are only possible through our member-ship fees, Opportunity Quilt tickets sales and our Quilt Show. Please support our guild with Country Store donations and volunteer opportunities at the Quilt Show. We have a lot of fun as we work together.
So it is time to get our weathervane block apron out, and ready it for wearing during the Quilt Show. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s quilts that will be entered into our quilt show. The excitement begins!
