I love the gradient colors of Ombré fabrics. It reminds me of the colors of nature, like the changing of fall foliage. This month Jennifer Sampou is speaking about Ombré fabrics and teaching a class. The class project is a reversible table runner and will be on Zoom. Hurry and sign up and invite your friends. You can register at www.gqccc.org/class-registration.

The 2021 Opportunity Quilt, “Midnight Garden,” is completed. This is one of the only Guild fundraisers this year. The quilt is a beautiful quilt with colorful appliquéd batik flowers. Thank you to everyone that participated in its making. Now it is time for all members to sell tickets for a possibility to win it. We are doing things a little differently this year. Look for more information in this newsletter on the changes and how to get your tickets.

We are getting ready to open the Farmhouse up to mini-groups. I know many have been waiting anxiously. Only 9 members can be in the Farmhouse at once, so dropping into the Farmhouse will not be allowed. You will need to contact the hostess before going to verify there is room for you to attend. Rules for the Farmhouse and the Guild’s Covid 19 plan can be found in the members’ only section of our website and is included in this newsletter for your reference.

Do you shop on Amazon? If you do, the Guild is now an approved charity for Amazon Smile. If you go to smile.amazon.com you can pick the Guild of Quilters of Contra Costa County as your charity and the guild will receive donations from Amazon on qualified purchases.

A reminder that you need to register at gqccc.org/zoomregistration to attend the October general meeting. Please do not register at the last minute. Socializing in break rooms before the meeting will begin at 6:15 pm. If you need any help with Zoom, please reach out to our tech support, Cynthia Wheeler, at (925) 963-9190.

Happy Quilting! Doreen O’Brien
