It is time to reflect on the past year and be thankful for our blessings while getting ready to welcome the new year. For many, UFOs that have been sitting around (sometimes for years), were dusted off and completed. For GQCCC, we were fast forwarded into new technologies that will have lasting future benefits. Membership is now a breeze with the process all available online. Zoom meetings have expanded what we can offer and increased our ability to connect to members. Teachers and speakers that may have otherwise been unavailable to the Guild can easily teach or speak via Zoom. Classes that were once only available on Tuesday mornings can now be offered at more convenient times. Even as we ease back into in-person events, virtual offerings will be a staple at GQCCC.
The Farmhouse is open with a max capacity of 9 members. Some mini-groups have started to meet. Please refer to the schedule to verify what groups have resumed and be sure to call the hostess before going to the Farmhouse. Some groups may also be hosting a Zoom Open Sew simultaneously with those at the Farmhouse. A reminder that Zoom open sew access is listed in the schedule, in the members section of the website, and on the Facebook members’ only group.
Monday, December 14th, will be our holiday event, Aurifilosophy. This will be handled differently than our Zoom General meetings. A detailed email blast will go out giving you instructions in the coming weeks. Watch for it.
Alex Anderson is our speaker in November. You know the drill by now. Register by Friday, the 13th, at www.gqccc.org/zoomregistration/ to attend. Visitors can pay $10 to attend. So reach out to prospective quilters, friends and family to invite them. They can register using the same registration link and information will be emailed to them on how to pay.
Wishing you and yours wellness, love, and creative expression in this holiday season.
