As we move into November, I am thankful for the friendships I have made as a GQCCC Guild member. The holidays and end of year can be stressful but we quilters have a secret, we can pick up a needle, a rotary cutter or sit down at the machine and sew our stresses away.
Our annual holiday donation for 2019, will be to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. We will have envelopes at the next two general meetings if you would like to make your own donation (checks only) to the Food Bank. Please make sure that you make your check out to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. You can also donate directly with them on their website, https:// www.foodbankccs.org/
If you want to participate in the Secret Quilter, fill out the Secret Quilter form, and bring it to the November meeting. Put your form in the box and then be sure to take one out. At our December social we will exchange the gifts. There will be forms at the Farmhouse and at November’s general meeting.
We are gearing up for the Quilt Show in April. If you have donations or are making small holiday gifts be sure to include one for the country store. Again, thanks to everyone that helped sew muslins. We are a volunteer organization and it is with everyone helping in all different ways that keeps the Guild alive.
Some members where many hats. Kathy Callahan, our historian and webmaster, needs to take one hat off and pass it to someone else. Any members that have website experience or technical experience and can step up and volunteer, please let Kathy or I know.
I wish everyone time to do some quilting this holiday season.
