As I begin my term as President, I would like to extend a hug of appreciation to all of our outgoing officers and chairs: Becky Styles as President, Mary Pimentel-Wheeler as 1st Vice President, Karen Morones as Corresponding Secretary, Reba Siero as Membership Secretary, Joan Reed as Parliamentarian and Jill Orr as Publicity Chair. Being a volunteer organization, the Guild could not exist and run as smoothly as it does without people jumping in and doing their part. A big thank you to those members that stepped up to fill positions: Helen Anderson and Maryann Johnson as 1st Vice President Co-Chairs, Sharon Arce as Membership Secretary, Jean Gualtieri as Corresponding Secretary, and Jeff Slattery as Publicity Chair.

I am sad to report that the Guild’s storage unit was robbed. Among other items, we lost the muslin needed to hang quilts for the Quilt Show. We are going to need people to pitch in and help prepare new muslin for the quilt frames. July 2nd and 9th at the Farmhouse from 10 am to 3 pm will be muslin cutting days; contact Diane Slattery for more information. In September, we will be scheduling a couple of sew days to hem and sew all the newly cut muslin.

We are also in need of Guild members to teach workshops in 2020. Do you have a skill, technique or unique way of piecing a quilt? Perhaps you have a pattern you want to share. You can earn a little money and bond with your quilting friends. If there is a skill you would like to learn let us know. Knowing that others want to learn a specific task can help motivate people to teach a skill they have.

This year is beginning with a need for extra support from our members. Quilters are known for stepping up and helping those in need. I know that all of you will do your part in helping insure that our Guild activities will run smoothly in the upcoming year.
