Happy Year of the Rat and 2020!
It is a year of renewal, and being inquisitive, and resourceful. Keeping in the spirit of the Rat, our January speakers, Silk and Savage showed us many beautiful quilts of silk and repurposed material.
Thank you, Melissa Cardinet, for your inquisitiveness and stepping up to be our Parliamentarian. Thank you, Donna Haslam, for being resourceful and becoming our Block of the Month Chair. We appreciate it.
GQCCC is a volunteer organization and takes many people to keep it going. It cannot fall to just a few. It is time for renewal and letting some longtime volunteers step down and let someone new contribute to the Guild. We still need a Webmaster, Travel Chair for the 2021 Opportunity Quilt and a Chair for the 2022 Opportunity Quilt. Interested members can contact myself or the current chair to get information about the details of the job.
It is the count down to the Quilt Show April 4th and 5th. We have seen cost increases across the board and the Quilt Show is the Guild’s biggest income earner. Getting more people to the event means more money to pay for the Farmhouse, speakers and the Concord Centre space and help our outreach programs. We need everyone to lend a hand, insuring a successful event. Please volunteer and get the word out about the show. We have flyers and bookmarks at the Farmhouse that you can take and post around town and give to your friends and family.
We cannot have a show without Quilts. Get in your Entry Forms and Photos by Monday, March 9th.
Remember this month’s General Meeting in on Tuesday, February 18th, and our guest speaker is Ora Clay with “Telling My Story”.
Wishing everyone a productive and creative 2020.
