As another year comes to an end, it is nice to look back at all that our guild has accomplished. Our philanthropic teams, Quilts to Share and Patriotic, have stayed busy all year, making kits for our members to complete, accepting quilts and items that our members make with their own stash, and delivering these items to a number of 501 (c)3 nonprofit groups who distribute them to those in need.

As guild members we have enjoyed great guest speakers, classes, workshops and every day mini groups in our wonderful Farmhouse.

Now we are ending the year in a holiday celebration at our December meeting, with fabric and word games and a little surprise entertainment, with plenty of time to visit with other members and just relax, too. Please bring a finger-food style savory or sweet to share, (7) 5 1/2 inch fabric squares, and a pencil. You may also bring a check made out to STAND! For Families Free of Violence, and it will be forwarded along with the Guild’s donation.

Once the holidays are over we will turn our attention to the quilt show and the nominating committee, so be thinking about how you would like to help this year. Of course, your lovely quilts will be needed to display in the quilt show. As our November guest speaker, Jan Soules, gave us lots of ideas of how to finish our borders to enhance the beauty of our quilts, they are sure to be better than ever.

Each month our newsletter lists many activities to join in, so please take advantage of all the guild has to offer and contact the name listed, with any questions you might have. Opportunity Quilt Chair for 2019 is ready to be filled as are the five positions on the Nominating Committee. Elections will come up this spring to fill President, 1st Vice President, Membership Chair and Corresponding Secretary, duties of which are listed in the bylaws, so see if these responsibilities fit into your life. They can also bring a lot of fun and new friends for you.

Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season with family and friends and a happy new year!
