2019 has flown by and 2020 is about to begin. Come bring a potluck item and celebrate with us at our Annual Holiday Social. If you are participating in the Secret Quilter, don’t forget to bring your gift. The Social is a great chance to get to know other members in the Guild. We will only have Show and Tell and the Block Exchange. No outreach programs or Block of the Month for the December general meeting.

The Guild runs smoothly and exists only because of our many volunteers. “Many hands make light work.” Thank you Patsy Ronat, Margo Spack, Barbara Windle, and Kathy Callahan, who have gifted the Guild with their time and service and are ready to move on to let someone else step up and support the Guild. We need a Traveling Quilt Chair for the 2021 Opportunity Quilt, a Block of the Month (BOM) Chair and a Webmaster. Volunteering is a great way to meet other members of the guild. You can also co-chair with a friend and split the responsibilities. If you can help or want more information about the position, you can contact me or the member stepping out of the position. Without our members pitching in we would not have a Guild.

Quilt Show preparations are well underway. It is the Guild’s number one source of income. It pays for the rent at the Farmhouse and the Concord Centre. The rent at the Farmhouse increased by 30% this year and will most likely be that or more of an increase next year. Help promote the Show to increase attendance. If you are on Facebook, you can easily share the event. Selling tickets for the Opportunity Quilt also helps. Member Opportunity tickets will be available at the Farmhouse and will be at the Holiday Social.

Remember we do not have a January newsletter. Our guest speakers for our January general meeting will be Sue Fox and Julia McLeod (Silk and Savage) — “New Quilts from Rescued Materials”.

Happy Holidays,

Doreen O’Brien
