During the hot summery days, we just keep zooming along here at GQCCC. We had another successful general meeting in July with 112 participants. August will be another great opportunity to connect. Normally a sew-in or demo-day, this year it is a Quilt Shop Tour. We will have four quilt shops come and give you a taste of what they have to offer. Nothing can stop quilters from adding to their stashes.

The lineup will be

  • The Cotton Patch in Lafayette
  • In Between Stitches in Livermore
  • New Pieces in Berkeley
  • Not Just Quiltz in Fremont

You will need to register again at www.gqccc.org/zoomregistration/ to attend the August meeting. Please do not register at the last minute. Your membership needs to be confirmed and an email is then sent with your personal Zoom Link. Registering at the last minute is risking not being able to attend the meeting.

Socializing in break room before the meeting was a big hit. In August, we will open the rooms up at 6:15 to allow for a little more time to chat before the meeting.

We added three nights of open sew on Zoom. Come connect to your quilt community. You can sew, chat, asks questions about the guild, or practice your Zoom skills. Refer to the Zoom Schedule in this newsletter or in the members only section of the website for days, times and link information. If anyone, wants to become a Zoom Open Sew Host, please contact me.

To help members with the Zoom registration process, there we be a practice Zoom session that requires users to register. Be on the lookout for the email with the details.

Another venue for members to connect is GQCCC’s member only Facebook group. If you did not see your invitation, please let us know so we can resend one to you. Members can post what they have been working on, see the efforts of our outreach programs and meet new and old members.

Our goal is to continue to bring members ways to connect to the GQCCC community; to inspire quilting, provide learning opportunities and experiences that showcase the beauty of the Quilting Arts.

Happy Quilting!
