Our 2017 Quilt Show last weekend was so beautiful. All of the teams worked together to create a lovely viewing of our quilts. Many positive comments have been received regarding the new layout for our quilt frames, with pauses in each row and two new Guest Resting Areas.
This year our guild was especially fortunate to have Nancy S Brown as our Guest Artist. Nancy’s quilts, with animals as her specialty, were enjoyed by our members and guests, as was her daily presentation at 1pm, on both Saturday and Sunday.
Both previous vendors and new ones joined our quilt show this year, with lots of great fabrics, tools, books, patterns, design walls, jewelry, comfortable shoes AND also a vendor who makes delicious Dark Chocolates! I think that all of us probably tasted those chocolates, maybe several times. And, as always, our Country Store was both robust and successful!
We welcome new members who joined during the quilt show and are so glad that you will travel with us along our journey of inspiration, learning and fun. The future holds many great guest speakers, member led workshops, and opportunities to sew for a cause, making quilts, pillow cases, wheelchair bags and more. Both of our outreach groups, Quilts to Share and Patriotic Quilts, have kits available at our general meetings, to check out and sew and return the next month.
Now that spring is here, and summer is on the way, there are lots of quilt shows in the coming months, to further inspire you.
See you at the April general meeting. And let’s get quilting!
